The job profile

As Group Controller at Walraven, you act as the right hand to the CFO and further strengthen the financial foundation for sustainable growth. You combine strategic insight with a hands-on mentality and play a pivotal role in the ongoing professionalization of finance. With your expertise, you enable reliable, data-driven decision-making and guide the development of business control across the group.

In this central position, you work closely with the CFO and the Executive Team, while leading a dedicated team and collaborating intensively with finance colleagues and business leaders worldwide. By combining strategic oversight with attention to detail, you ensure Walraven achieves its long-term objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and group reporting with a strong focus on accuracy and transparency.
  • Develop and implement financial processes and standards to ensure efficiency and compliance across all entities.
  • Translate market developments into forecasts and concrete recommendations to support group strategy.
  • Monitor transfer pricing, cost control, and cash flow, while overseeing tax matters, treasury, and CSRD compliance.
  • Coordinate improvement projects such as ERP implementations, reporting tools, and Power BI dashboards, and promote a data-driven way of working.
  • Partner with local management teams to analyze monthly results, identify trends, and translate insights into actions.
  • Prepare reports for banks and external stakeholders, and co-lead annual reporting and audit processes.
  • Support the integration of new entities, including administrative set-up, banking structures, and reporting dashboards.
  • Lead and develop your team, contributing to the professionalization and learning culture within finance.
  • Build strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear agreements, aligned priorities, and reliable execution.

The ideal candidate

We are looking for an experienced financial leader who combines strategic insight with a hands-on mentality. Someone who brings structure, clarity, and a long-term vision, yet is not afraid to dive into the details when necessary. With a strong background in finance within international and industrial environments, you feel confident leading teams, challenging stakeholders, and driving improvements in processes and compliance. With your collaborative and forward-looking approach, you earn trust, influence decision-making, and create impact at both operational and strategic levels.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Academic degree in Business Management or Accountancy, preferably complemented by an RC or RA qualification.
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in an international industrial environment.
  • Proven expertise in business partnering, compliance, process control, and process improvement.
  • Strong ability to see the bigger picture and identify opportunities for strategic improvements.
  • Experience with financial reporting software and ERP systems; knowledge of ERP Dynamics, Power BI, and Lucanet is an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial and management accounting.
  • Solid understanding of international laws and regulations.
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English.
