The job profile

The “Financial Accounting & Reporting policies – Expertise Centre Finance”-department is embedded alongside other important departments such as Financial Data & Reporting, Balance Sheet Management, Financial Markets & Treasury and Investor Relations. Your team consists of seven highly qualified specialists. You report directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage: Direct, mentor, and enhance the skills of your team (7 FTE).
    • Develop and maintain policies: Oversee the formulation and updating of internal accounting policies.
    • Revise existing policies: Regularly review and amend current guidelines.
    • Create new policies: Develop policies in response to updates in IFRS standards.
    • Ensure understanding: Effectively communicate policies and ensure they are comprehended across the organization.
  • Offer expert guidance: Provide professional advice on complex financial accounting issues.
    • Interpret standards: Advise on the application of accounting standards and rules.
    • Address issues: Resolve accounting challenges and assess alternative solutions.
    • Engage with stakeholders: Maintain regular communication with ExCo, NVB, ECB, IASB, and other relevant organizations.
  • Update leadership: Keep ExCo and senior management informed about significant IFRS and regulatory changes.
    • Promote expertise: Stay informed about industry developments and oversee staff development to ensure the Bank’s continued expertise and resource readiness.

The ideal candidate

You excel in distilling complex issues into clear, actionable insights for the organization. With a keen eye for detail, you are both critical and persistent, always meeting deadlines with precision. Your open and transparent communication style, combined with a sharp organizational awareness, sets you apart. You take initiative, consistently generating innovative ideas and solutions. By fostering collaboration, you unite teams and drive continuous improvement, whether within your own team or across all departments you engage with.

  • Chartered Financial Accountant (CFA) with a Master’s degree in Financial Accounting or an equivalent CA/ RA designation;
  • Over 10 years of proven experience in a similar role with managerial responsibilities, ideally within a bank or a Big 4 audit firm having an FSI client portfolio;
  • Deep knowledge of International Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS) and core financial products/services in banking and capital markets;
  • Skilled in researching and developing policies, providing practical guidance, and managing internal governance processes;
  • Proficient in writing clear and concise memos, presentations, and letters tailored to various audiences;
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across the Bank and collaborate effectively;
  • Strong supervisory skills with a proven track record of developing staff and driving team success.
