Everfield is looking to be the leader in European vertical and specialist software solutions across myriad niche industries who provide mission critical applications, service, and support to their clients. It focuses on identifying companies that have their own IP and possess high-quality software solutions, such as mission-critical or value-added products tailored to a specific market (e.g. HR, finance/accounting, Enterprise Resource Planning, Customer Relationship Management Manufacturing Execution Systems). It often works with owners who are looking for a path toward succession or are seeking additional capital and strategic support to grow their businesses. 

Everfield is private equity backed by Aquiline Capital Partners (“Aquiline”). Aquiline is a private investment firm based in New York and London that invests in businesses across the financial services and software sectors, specifically in insurance, financial technology, enterprise software, business services, credit, investment management and healthcare.

The job profile

The Director Financial Control will be a key hire into the Amsterdam  based part of the Everfield team, which will be established in 2023.. In addition to the Director Financial Control, a small team of finance professionals will be hired over the next 12 months into the Netherlands Finance team. As Everfield is a European player, it’s the expectation that the rest of the Finance team will be build across Europe.  . To support Everfield’s growth, we are looking for an ambitious Director Financial Control. You will report to the CFO (Franklin Hagel) and have the opportunity  to build your own team.  As a Director Financial Control you will work in an international, entrepreneurial, ambitious and results driven organization. 

As the Director Financial Control  you will be responsible for overseeing the financial controlling function of the organization, including accounting, reporting and ensuring compliance with all accounting standards and regulations across the portfolio. Furthermore, you will be involved with various finance improvements projects, including the initial selection and implementation of the Finance and reporting systems and tools.. Also, you will be involved in  multiple post-acquisition integrations as well as ad-hoc projects as the Everfield portfolio of companies grows, including projects aimed at streamlining and automating processes (ideally including RPA types of solutions).

The ideal candidate

  • The ideal candidate has a completed university education, supplemented with a CPA/CA/ACA or RA program, at least 10 years' work experience within an international or complex environment and the right drive and ambition to make the difference;
  • Analytical ability, conceptual thinking ability and a strong feeling for relationships between head office and operating companies;
  • Strong communication skills in an international, multi-language setting;
  • Result-oriented and solution-oriented, able to bring about changes;
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and getting things done mentality;
  • Preferably experience in fast growing Technology and SAAS types of companies;
  • Expert level in Accounting, Consolidation, IFRS and policies, incl. experience in Software revenue recognition accounting treatments;
  • Advanced level in Tax reporting. Know-how of Accounting vs. Tax differences;
  • Experience with Internal Control Frameworks;
  • Excellent communication skills in English (speaking & writing), more European languages is a plus;
  • Able to communicate at all levels both within and outside the organization;
  • Some international travel might be involved.
