Fresh Tandartsen is a leading Dutch dental group, focused on a high-quality and patient centric-approach. Founded in 2014 by Koen Clement (CEO) and Tako-Jan Holwerda (CFO), Fresh Tandartsen has grown into a strong dental platform and top 3 player in the Netherlands with an excellent reputation. The first clinic in Heemstede was a merger of 6 solo practices and is still part the company which has grown to running 45 clinics and 10 labs across the Netherlands.

Fresh focuses on quality, integrity and a patient-centric approach rather than a retail model, with centralised labs supplying dental products to its clinics and external parties. Next to the dental clinics and the associated Fresh Service Center, other initiatives have also been developed to be able to offer an all-in package for dental practices. This includes a platform for specialist dental care, several in-house laboratories and an own Fresh academy. This gives Fresh Tandartsen every opportunity to offer patients complete and optimal oral care and to invest in technological innovations such as 3D printers and remote orthodontics. Fresh Unieke Mondzorg has also been launched since 2017. This platform for mobile oral care for the elderly and vulnerable people is also growing rapidly.

Ambition
In 2019, Fresh Tandartsen found a partner in the English Private Equity investor Livingbridge. Livingbridge’s investment will be used to support Fresh’s growth plans with further M&A and (inter)national acquisitions strategies, whilst retaining the high quality of service levels for which Fresh are renowned. This means ambitious growth plans and an active buy and build strategy for the coming years. To strengthen the management team to steer the expected growth, we are now looking for the new Finance Director to join Fresh Tandartsen.

The ideal candidate

  • Completed Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting, ideally a completed post master (RA, RC, ACCA, CMA or equivalent);
  • 10+ years’ experience in (senior) finance roles;
  • Experience in multisite/ multi location business models;
  • Extensive experience in leading and building a team;
  • Extensive experience in setting up frameworks that create measurable business objectives and unlock actual insight into business progress compared to targets;
  • Experience with M&A and post-acquisition integration;
  • IT and data savvy and experience with system implementations;
  • Successful track record in change and improvement processes;
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.

The job profile

Due to the growth of the company and the desire to take the financial organization to the next level, we are looking for an operational Finance Director for Fresh Tandartsen. This is a new position within the company and you will play a pivotal role in the next phase of growth and professionalization leading the internal finance department including Financial Accounting, FP&A, Business Control and Data Analytics. Together with the team you will facilitate further growth while enhancing financial stewardship, transparency, compliance and performance.  You will report directly into the CFO/founder. 
Your main objectives:

  • End responsible for all financial matters, including accounting, reporting, planning cycle and performance analysis;
  • Further professionalizing the accounting and financial control structure;
  • Setting up a solid business control function with state of the art BI tools supporting the international growth;
  • Implement a strong budgeting process and rolling forecast;
  • Inspiring the current finance team of approx. 13 professionals; 
  • Support in achieving the growth objectives through a sound process set up, including systems and impact on organization structure, tax, legal and working capital needs;
  • Business Partner of the board and Livingbridge regarding strategic projects: new business development initiatives, M&A, investments, business cases etc. 
  • Being a strong sparring partner for the COO and working closely with her on trend and performance analysis of the different clinics/locations;
  • Actively contribute to M&A and post-acquisition integrations;
  • Perform corporate housekeeping regarding legal, bank relations, auditors, tax and contract management.
