Enza Zaden is an international vegetable-breeding company. So what does that entail? In a nutshell, the company develops new vegetable varieties. Enza Zaden does this for more than 30 different vegetable crops (and 1,200 varieties). Enza Zaden produces and sells the seeds of these crops all over the world. To give you an example: every year, around twenty billion heads of lettuce are grown from Enza’s lettuce seed.

Functie omschrijving

As Global Finance Operations Manager at Enza Zaden, you will work in a highly innovative and rapidly changing international environment. The Global Finance Operations Manager reports directly to the CFO. The Global Finance Operations Manager will manage all the global finance operations and is a pro-active business partner and member of the Finance and Legal Management team. 


With Enza Zaden, you are challenged to develop yourself, to extend your knowledge and skills and to further improve, professionalize and ensure the global finance operations organization. The key is to really have impact at global and regional level. 


Main tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Daily stakeholder management with the Regional Finance Managers (6) and indirectly 22 local finance managers; and in total a team of 50 colleagues;
  • Monitors relevant regional and local KPI-sets; 
  • Coordinate and manage all global finance operations tasks;
  • Manage, stimulate and coach your team members and identify training and development needs;
  • Responsible and accountable for global finance guidelines, including improvement of all the global internal frameworks;
  • Coordinate the global finance team on analysis of actuals, budget and latest estimate;
  • Monitor the global requirements, resulting in short and longer term plans for the finance operations department; In cooperation with HR
  • Add value by generating a multi-year strategy for Global Finance Operations function;
  • Support regions to understand and deliver managerial data based on group implemented policies and on other global finance management reporting issues;
  • Responsible for development of the global Finance Operations multi-year strategy; 
  • Form close working relationships with all relevant business stakeholders; 
  • Participates in improvement global projects within IT or Finance
  • Drive change and improve the Global Finance Operations department;
    • Provides leadership and direction to the team for executing on their plans;
    • Manage, stimulate and coach your team members and identify training and development needs;
    • Creates spirit of collaboration, engagement, and sharing best practices within the Global Finance Operations Team;
    • Implements a culture of continuous improvement where team members share feedback and build on healthy conflict;
  • You are a proactive member of the Finance and Legal Management team, and a key player in the finance and legal Enza Zaden community. 

Profiel geschikte kandidaat

The ideal candidate has a (Post) Master Controlling degree (RC) and/or (Post) Audit/Accounting degree and relevant working experience within a multinational environment. You will take leadership, be able to drive change and get things done in an international scope and complex international environment. Furthermore, you have the right drive and ambition to make a career within Enza Zaden.

  • At least 10 years of hands-on finance and managerial experience; 
  • Ability and skills to challenge, propose & implement changes in processes; 
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and processes;
  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders at all different levels;
  • In depth experience with leadership and engaging the business;
  • Open, trustworthy personality, able to work with different backgrounds and cultures;
  • Ability to influence and convince others
  • Challenge people in for continuous improvement;
  • Long-term focus both on current and future business performance and expansion;
  • Willing to travel frequently;
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
