The job profile

This is a unique opportunity for a finance professional to transition from practice to industry, shaping processes and building a robust financial framework in a fast-growing global organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Finance, you’ll oversee group accounting, consolidations, and monthly closings, while analyzing budgets, forecasts, and regional performance. 

Key task & projects include: 

  • Transitioning from Dutch GAAP to IFRS;
  • Integrating post-merger entities;
  • Streamlining the group’s structure;
  • Implementing cash pooling for optimized liquidity management;
  • Preparing consolidated annual reports;
  • Managing intercompany reconciliations;
  • Enhancing cost allocation frameworks for global functions like IT and HR;
  • Collaborate with regional Finance Directors;
  • Support tax and treasury compliance;
  • Lead high-impact initiatives as Avania continues its ambitious growth through organic expansion and acquisitions.

The ideal candidate

This is not a traditional 9-to-5 office role—it offers autonomy to choose where and when you work, empowering you to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic organization. While the role is full-time, part-time arrangements (four days per week) are open for discussion, providing additional flexibility to suit individual preferences.

  • A degree in (Business) Economics, Accountancy, or Finance in combination with preferably a Dutch Certified Auditor (RA) or equivalent qualification (e.g., CPA);
  • 7–10 years post-qualification experience, ideally with a Big 4 firm;
  • Knowledge in Dutch Gaap and IFRS;
  • Affinity and/or experience with private equity and/or life sciences is a plus;
  • Understanding of project/hour-based business operations;
  • Technical Skills and familiarity with global finance systems; 
  • Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to thrive in a flexible, ad hoc environment;
  • Fluent in English.
